Learning, Design, & Technology Graduate Certificates

The Learning, Design, & Technology Program provides coursework to prepare students for the following certificates:

A Master Technology Teacher (MTT) Certification

A State of Texas-approved certification intended to help school districts identify teachers with an expertise in technology integration and mentorship in technology skills. Four courses are required:

  1. CUIN 6345: Integrating Technology into the Curriculum
  2. CUIN 7390: Instructional Design
  3. CUIN 6374: Multimedia for the Classroom
  4. CUIN 7328: Technology and Teacher Education

University of Houston Learning, Design, & Technology Certificates

Graduate Certificate in Designing and Developing Educational Graphics

For professionals working in education or private industry who wish to enhance their ability to design, create, and publish effective educational graphics.

Students choose four from the following courses:

  • CUIN 7305: Courseware and Presentation Tools (every odd summer)
  • CUIN 7317: The Visual Representation of Information (every even fall)
  • CUIN 7330: Project-Based Digital Media (not currently on the schedule)
  • CUIN 7346: Educational Uses of Digital Video (every even spring)
  • CUIN 7358: Digital Storytelling (every fall)
  • CUIN 7368: Advanced Digital Imaging (every even fall)
  • CUIN 7376: Design of Online Educational Resources II 
  • CUIN 7389: Digital Media (every odd summer)
  • CUIN 7390: Instructional Design (every odd spring)

Graduate Certificate in Designing and Developing Educational Multimedia

For professionals working in education or private industry who wish to enhance their ability to design, create, and evaluate educational multimedia.

Students choose four from the following courses:

  • CUIN 6374: Educational Multimedia (every even spring)
  • CUIN 7327: The Collaborative Design of Multimedia (every odd fall)
  • CUIN 7357: The Collaborative Development of Multimedia (every odd fall)
  • CUIN 7346: Educational Uses of Digital Video (every even spring)
  • CUIN 7390: Instructional Design (course number changed by CBM form) (every odd spring)
  • CUIN 7305: Courseware and Presentation Tools (every odd summer)
  • CUIN 7358: Digital Storytelling (every fall)
  • CUIN 7376: Design of Online Educational Resources II (CBM form submitted to change to: New Tools for Creating Online Educational Materials) (every even summer)

  • CUIN 7356: Topics in Distance Education (every even summer)
  • CUIN 7376: Design of Online Educational Resources II (CBM form submitted to change to: New Tools for Creating Online Educational Materials) (every even summer)
  • CUIN 7390: Instructional Design (every odd spring)
