College of Education Alumni Association Scholarship Endowment-Undergraduate & Graduate
Description
This scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree in the College of Education. Nominations may come from an instructor, a student teacher supervisor, graduate advisor or from the individual who is seeking this scholarship.
Notification of awards will be sent by mail.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicant must be a certified full-time undergraduate (12 hours) or graduate (9 hours) certificate or degree-seeking student in good standing in the College of Education and the University of Houston.
Applicant must have and maintain a GPA of 3.0.
Applicant must exhibit leadership qualities as determined by the College of Education Scholarship Committee.
Applicant may not be a recipient of this scholarship from previous years.
Materials
Completed College of Education scholarship application which includes a description of academic performance and leadership qualities.
An up-to-date University of Houston transcript.
Two letters of recommendation, one from a faculty member in the student's program area.
Updated degree plan.
Vita or resume, including leadership qualities.
Goal Statement, limited to one typed page, including rationale for scholarship and teaching philosophy.
Recipient may accept other scholarships and grants inconjuction with this scholarship. Funds must be used to cover tuition, fees, books, and/or supplies for the coming academic semester.
Awards for this scholarship will be determined by the College of Education Alumni Board Scholarship Committee.
