Instructions for LiveJournal

We will be using http://www.livejournal.com for our reflective journals. Create an account, and then follow the instructions below for adding your instructor to your "Friends" list and for setting the security level of your postings to "Friends."

1. Click on Friends. A drop-down menu will appear. Click on Manage Friends, which will take you to another page.

2. Scroll down the page until you see Add Friends. Type in the username for the friend or instructor you are adding. When finished, click Save Changes. (Do not click Invite a Friend. That is for inviting someone who does not already have a livejournal account.)

3. To post, click on Journal. A drop-down menu will appear. Click on Post an Entry. That will take you to another page with a message window for creating your posting.

4. Because you may be discussing students, teachers, and schools, setting the security level of your postings is important. Title your posting according to the assignment. For example, if your posting is your beginning reflection, then name the subject as "Beginning Reflection." Scroll down so that you can see towards the bottom of the page, and set the security level to "Friends."
