I am an Associate Professor in the Instructional Technology Program and have been teaching in the College of Education since 1993. Before coming to UH, I completed a Master's degree and a doctoral degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education.

I have also been a member of the Society for Technology and Teacher Education (SITE) for many years and serve as chair of SITE's Digital Storytelling Special Interest Group.

I teach courses on digital photography and storytelling, applications of digital video and multimedia, the design and development of community-based web sites, and the use of instructional technologies in medical education. I have also published a large body of articles on the educational uses of emerging technologies and frequently work with educators regarding the integration of technology into teaching and learning. I am a co-author of the book, The Educator's Guide to the Web, published in 1997.
