Contract Learning

Contract learning originated from individualized instruction plans in the 1920's.

Students would agree to learning contracts, and then they were free to complte them at their own pace. No new contracts could be written until the current one was satisfactorily completed.

It is important to note that this plan was one of the first to use prespecified learning outcomes and self-pacing.
