CUIN 7316:
The Design of Online Education Resources I


Course Description
:

CUIN7316 is a beginner's-level course in designing online education resources. Topics include the development of educational Web pages and sites; HTML; design for accessibility, usability, and learnability; explore how accessibility, usability, and learnability are developed, applied, and evaluated for use in online education. Emphasis will be given to learning coding rather than the use of web editors (e.g., Macromedia Dreamweaver, Microsoft FrontPage). Assessment will occur largely via hands-on projects.

To avoid duplication of existing courses, this course does not focus on authoring tools, or on the production of graphics, digital audio, and video.

Prerequisites:

Students enrolled in the course are assumed to possess basic information technology literacy. No prior knowledge of HTML is assumed.
