Final Project: Preliminary Notes

For a final project, students will design and develop an original, interactive, computer assisted piece of software which reflects their design and authoring skills. Students are expected to find and work with a client (or a group of users in your target audience) to develop software that addresses an instructional need for a specific group of users.

Any educational content suitable for a K-12 classroom or for a business training situation may be selected for a final project.

This project should reflect your knowledge of the content in addition to your design and authoring skills. It should be written in Authorware and address an instructional need about which you have first-hand knowledge.

The following materials must be submitted:

1. the program itself in source code and packaged format for both Mac and Windows platforms

2. documentation for your program which includes

3. a preliminary formative evaluation report (1000 words) on the use of the program by a small sample of the intended audience. Assessment criteria should relate to usability issues and the degree to which predetermined learning outcomes have been met (i.e. has any learning occurred and how do you know?) This report should include:
