Advisors

Attention Undergraduate Students:

The College of Education is now using the UH PeopleSoft Appointment System

To schedule an advising appointment:

  • Go to PeopleSoft (MyUH) my.uh.edu
  • Select the Advising Tab
  • Select Appointment with Advisor
Note: Students returning from suspension should contact their advisor by email to set an appointment (see list below)

The day of your appointment:

  • Please arrive at least five minutes early for check–in and provide us with your PeopleSoft ID#  at the front desk
  • Have your questions written in advance to ask your advisor
  • Bring a copy of your Degree Plan Report (if necessary), petitions or any other documentation to ensure that you have a successful advising experience

Please remember:

  • Scheduled appointments are best for degree planning or complex individual situations.
  • Walk-in Days are better suited for shorter, simpler needs such as quick questions, petition drop off, etc.
  • If you need assistance that does not require a face-to-face meeting, please email you advisor and he/she will respond as soon as possible.

Advising is available for prospective and current students at the undergraduate level and PB/graduate students seeking initial teacher certification. We suggest that prospective students (not enrolled in the university), visit us during walk-in hours.  Prospective graduate students should visit an admissions advisor within our college.  Once admitted, graduate students should seek advising from their designated faculty advisor.

Future High School Teachers

If you would like to pursue an undergraduate degree with certification at the high school level (Grades 8-12) or in Art or Music (Early Childhood-12th grade), you must major in the subject that you want to become certified to teach and may pursue a Minor in Education. You must also successfully complete the Teacher Education Program. Please see the departmental advisor for undergraduate requirements. All advisors are located within the academic department of your degree.
