Gifted & Beyond TAGT 2013

The Texas Association for the Gifted & Talented (TAGT) holds its 2013 Annual Conference on December 4 - 6 at the George  R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.  The UH College of Education is a Distinguished Partner sponsor for the conference.

TAGT is thrilled to be back in Houston and exploring a variety of topics that are currently affecting gifted education. What is next for gifted education? How are we reaching and serving underrepresented populations? Are we adequately preparing our students to achieve their full potential? Through powerful keynotes, breakout sessions and networking opportunities, TAGT 2013 will provide attendees with the opportunity to explore Gifted…& Beyond!

Interesting Keynotes and a Dynamic Schedule

In addition to choosing from over 150 training opportunities by prac- titioners and experts in the field, attendees have the opportunity to participate in extending sessions during Wednesday Institutes. There will also be two featured speakers. Dr. Joyce Juntune, Time for a “Provolu- tion” (Proactive Revolution) in Gifted Education and Dr. Temple Grandin, Helping Different Kinds of Minds to Succeed.

A Plethora of Exhibit Hall and Conference Activities

The exhibit hall will be filled with a wide variety of vendors focused on gifted and talented educational professionals and advocates. Special conference activities include: Creativity Potpourri, TAGT Awards Night, Social Connection Area, Peer Meet-Ups, Global #gtchat, Gifted Student Showcase, The Rad Hatter Experience and much more!

Especially for Psychologists

TAGT is pleased to offer a special conference- within-a-conference for psychologists. A broad range of topics will be covered, with a special emphasis on the twice-exceptional child. The event features many pre-eminent leaders in the field, including Dr. Richard Olenchak, Dr. Temple Grandin, and Dr. James Webb.

Six hour of continuing education for psychologists is offered each of the three days, making it possible to earn as many as 18 hours of continuing education. TAGT is approved by the APA to sponsor continuing education for psychologists, and maintains responsibility for the program and its content. Read more . . .
