 Juarez speaks to HART
Veronica Juarez, a 1999 UH grad, gave the key presentation at the April 2006 meeting of the Houston Association of Retired Teachers (HART). Juarez, who received her doctorate in Human Nutrition and Foods, fields nutrition questions weekly on Sunny 99.1 at 7:20 a.m. Monday mornings. She also hosts an "Ask Veronica" column for Kelsey-Seybold's website, www.kelsey-seybold.com . HART awarded a total of $6000 in scholarships to eight University of Houston College of Education students for 2006-07. The scholarship recipients were Vanessa Becton, Sandra Carrizales, Charon Grimaldo, Emily Loebach, Linh Nguyen, Rose Palomares, Lien Pham, and Amanda Lee Resendez.
"The event was a wonderful example of the diversity within the College of Education , ranging from the scholarship recipients, who are in Curriculum and Instruction, to Ms. Juarez, who graduated from our Dietetic Program," said Robert McPherson, executive associate dean.
