Jeannette DixonJeannette Dixon

Jeannette Dixon’s years of museum experience illustrated their unique ability to teach using historical and artistic works. Her six years spent creating and developing the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston’s website lead to her involvement with the University of Houston IT program. This collaboration resulted in the website for MFAH’s American decorative arts center, Bayou Bend. This spring, Jeannette worked on the “Places in Time” course that linked their American History course with English Composition. Jeannette is presently working on the Digital History website to develop an Art in History section. Securing digital rights to museum images and connecting the images to the historical context will be done in cooperation with faculty and graduate students. These images can be used for future sections of linked American History and English classes, and on the web by teachers of history in high school and college.
