What is the difference between an Ed.D and a Ph.D?
Theoretically, the Ed.D is more practical and applied, whereas the Ph.D. is more research-oriented. However, our Ed.D program required 12 hours of courses in research.
Usually, when are classes offered?
Most of the students in our programs continue to work on a full-time basis, which is the reason we offer our courses in the evenings and on the weekends. Generally, the classes offered during week are scheduled from 5-8pm and on Saturdays from 9-4pm.
Do I need the GRE and how recent do the scores have to be?
For the masters and principalship programs you can take either the GRE or the MAT (Millers Analogies Test).
For the Ed.D you will need to take the GRE.
GRE or the MAT must have been taken within the previous 5 years at the time of application. No exceptions will be made.
What is required to apply to the programs?
Principalship certification only: Students must have an Education-related Master’s (from a school of education) from within the last 10 years. This program consists of 6 courses beyond the Master’s degree. Students apply for NDO (non-degree objective) status and must meet the same admission deadlines as the Master’s students.
