The department is a principal provider of counselors, directors of special education, psychologists, researchers, and educational diagnosticians for schools in the greater Houston area and for the Texas Medical Center. Many of our doctoral graduates assume faculty appointments at colleges and universities or obtain positions of leadership in other educational settings, community mental health agencies, or a variety of research centers throughout the nation and internationally.
