Description

This scholarship is available to a certified full-time undergraduate degree seeking student demonstrating an interest in pursuing a career in bilingual education.  Scholarships will be awarded to applicants as determined by the College of Education Scholarship Committee.  

Notification of awards will be sent by mail.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Applicant must be a certified full-time undergraduate degree seeking student in good standing in the College of Education and the University of Houston.
2. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in bilingual education.
3. Applicant must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better.
4. Scholarship recipients may accept other scholarships and grants.
5. Funds can be used to cover expenses for tuition, books, fees, room and board and/or supplies for the coming academic semester.  Any expenses of a recipient in excess of the amount deposited must be borne by the student.

Materials

____Completed College of Education Scholarship Application
____A current University of Houston transcript
____Three letters of recommendation from faculty in the College of Education
____A one-page statement of teaching and/or research philosophy demonstrating
        commitment to a career in bilingual education.

Awards for this scholarship will be determined by the College of Education Scholarship Committee.
