Description

This scholarship is to assist either an undergraduate or graduate student to complete his/her studies and certification program to teach Science or Mathematics Education. To apply for this scholarship, please fill out a College of Education Scholarship Application and include all the required materials.

Nominations may come from an instructor, a student teacher supervisor or from the individual who is seeking the scholarship.

Notification of awards will be sent by mail.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant is to be working toward certification to become a Science or Mathematics Teacher.
Enrolled in a methods course, student teaching or have recently completed student teaching.
Student must be enrolled in the University of Houston, College of Education.
Student must be in good standing within the program at the University of Houston, College of Education.

Checklist (please initial on line indicating submission of required documentation)

____Application form.
____A one-page letter of nomination.
____A one-page statement of teaching philosophy and intent to become a science or
        mathematics teacher.
____An up-to-date University of Houston transcript.
____A current resume.
____Two letters of recommendation from people in the College of Education such as a
        methods course instructor, a student teacher supervisor, or a general education instructor.
____One letter from a person outside of the College of Education knowledgeable about one's
        scholarship or accomplishments.

Awards for this scholarship will be determined by the College of Education Scholarship Selection Committee.
