The Larry and Phyllis Hughes Award for Leadership Studies Endowment-for Doctoral Candidates in College of Education

Description

This scholarship is available to Doctoral Level students in the College of Education studying issues of leadership or organizational behavior (with preference given to students in the Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Studies). Selection will be made by the College of Education Scholarship Committee.
Notification of awards will be sent by mail.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants are doctoral students in the College of Education at the University of Houston who have successfully completed the Doctoral Qualifying Examination (or students who have otherwise successfully completed all college and departmental requirements leading to preparing a dissertation proposal).


In addition, eligible applicants are students who intend to focus their dissertation research on leadership or organization behavior in schools, colleges, or universities.
Note that preference will be given to doctoral students in the Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Studies.
Recipients may accept other grants, scholarships, and financial aid in conjunction with this scholarship.


Checklist (please initial on line indicating submission of required documentation)
____Completed College of Education Scholarship application.
____Current University of Houston transcript.
____Two letters of recommendation from faculty in the Department of Educational Leadership and Cultural Studies or in College of Education.
____A one-page statement of professional goals, including a description of applicant’s interest in research on leadership or organizational behavior (see criteria above).

Awards for this scholarship will be determined by the College of Education Selection Committee.
