Description

The Mary Louise White Scholarship is available to full-time students pursuing a degree of study in Health and Human Performance or studying Special Education with an emphasis on mental retardation within the College of Education. To apply for the scholarship, please fill out a College of Education Scholarship application and include all the required materials as listed below.

Notification of awards will be sent by mail.

Nominations should be presented annually by the Departments of Health and Human Performance and Educational Psychology to the Scholarship Committee in the College of Education.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant's academic performance (minimum GPA of 2.5).
Applicant demonstrates financial need (as indicated on their Tax Return Form).
Applicant must be making satisfactory progress toward completion of their degree for which they are working.
Progress and good standing must be maintained within the department and degree for which they are working.
Applicant must have at least one full semester remaining at the time of application.

Checklist (please initial on line indicating submission of required documentation)

____Completed College of Education Scholarship application form.
____An up-to-date University of Houston Transcript.
____Two letters of recommendation, at least one from the student's program and College of
        Education faculty.
____Documentation of financial need (i.e.Tax Return Form).

Awards for this scholarship will be determined by the College Scholarship Committee.
