How do I sign up?
ExCET & TExES Bar-Code Information

Please visit the Teacher Education and Certification office in 112 Farish Hall and pick up your ExCET/TExES Registration form.

The Teacher Education and Certification office must barcode and mail your ExCET/TExES registration form. You cannot mail it yourself. You will submit the ExCET/TExES Registration form, check or money order, and the pink insert found in UH ExCET/TExES Registration Booklets, in the envelope provided by National Evaluation Systems (NES) and AFFIX POSTAGE. Turn in the envelope, registration form, the pink insert, and postage to the front desk in the Teacher Education and Certification Office by the deadline dates posted above.

To take the ExCET/TExES, you must be:

• University of Houston student.
• Have an Undergraduate degree plan or a Certification/Deficiency Plan (Post-baccalaureates/Graduates only) on file in room 112 FH.
• Registering to take ONE TEST PER TEST DATE.
• Only register to take a test in the area indicated on my degree or certification/deficiency plan.

Please note: Registering for the incorrect test may delay your ExCET or TExES registration process with NES.

Initial Classroom Certifications must pass qualifying exams required to take the ExCET/TExES for which you are registering. Please call the Teacher Education and Certification for more information.
