Departmental Admission Deadlines

M.Ed. -  Higher Education

Students must complete and fully satisfy the Department, College and University requirements for admission to the program.  Please note, the program has switched to a cohort admissions structure. Admissions decisions will be made only one time a year based on a competitive applicant pool. All applications for the new Fall 2010 cohort will due on or before January 31, 2010.

Please be advised that you will not be notified of
your acceptance until at least 3 weeks after each respective deadline.

Application Materials:

· Graduate application (former UH Main Campus graduate students submit General Petition instead)

· $45.00 Application fee

· 2 official copies of transcripts reflecting the last 60 hours from the Bachelor's degree (including Post Baccalaureate work, if any); former UH Main Campus students do not need to submit transcripts-accounts can be viewed in system.

· Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores (scores must be within the last 5 years).

· An updated resume

· Two letters of recommendation from employers or other professional or educational associates

· A 500-word statement of purpose  addressing the applicant's professional aspirations and the ways in which a Masters degree from this program might further those goals. Additionally, the essay should highlight unique experiences or qualifications the applicant may have that would actively contribute to a community of scholars studying higher education.
