TEACHER CERTIFICATION

The Teacher Certification Program offers students an opportunity to develop practical competencies on a base of theoretical knowledge about human development. HDFS offers two certifications: Early Childhood to Fourth Grade (EC-4) and Special Education EC-12. EC-4 Certification qualifies graduates to teach children from pre-kindergarten to fourth grade in public school as well as in preschool and day care facilities. Special Education EC-12 Certification allows individuals to become Special Education teachers at all levels, from early childhood through twelfth grade.
