These are the procedures for forming a Dissertation Committee:
1.
Identify a faculty member to serve as the chairperson and advisor.
2.
With the advisor/chairperson, identify the other committee members. Four are required. One must be from outside the EPSY department, but a UH faculty member. Half the committee members must be counseling psychology faculty.
3.
A member outside the University may serve as a fifth committee member.
4.
Complete and have the chairperson sign an Appointment of Dissertation/Thesis Committee form available through MyAdvisor.
5.
Changes in the committee must be formally approved by the Executive Associate Dean for Graduate Studies.
