The General Knowledge portion is evaluated anonymously by at least two faculty members in Counseling Psychology. The specialty portion is evaluated by at least two faculty members familiar with the student's research and/or specialty interest. The two portions are graded independently, but the student must pass both portions in order to pass the exam.
If a student fails one portion of the exam, only that portion must be retaken. The faculty has the option of giving an oral exam only in those cases in which they cannot make a clear decision based on the student's written response. (See pg.18 in the Handbook)
