Academic requirements (as of Fall, 2005):

1. Completion of all coursework
2. Successful defense of candidacy project
3. Passing of the Comprehensive Exam (both general and specialty questions)
4. Successful defense of dissertation proposal by November 30 of the internship application year

Students who submit internship applications prior to the November 30 deadline and who fail to defend the dissertation proposal successfully by that date will be required to immediately withdraw their pending applications. (See Handbook pg.9)
