Non Degree Objective Status

Applicants who have received an undergraduate degree who wish to pursue certification in the Educational Psychology Department may apply to become Non-Degree Objective (NDO) students in order to complete certification requirements at the graduate level.  Note that some certifications require a master's degree and all application requirements for admittance to the department apply to NDO applicants.  For more information about admission to the EPSY department, visit our admissions information.

Once admitted to the program, students must file a deficiency plan with the Office of Student Services (Rm. 112 Farish Hall) in order to officially determine an NDO student’s remaining coursework. 

Coursework Required for Certification:

• Educational Diagnostician
• Special Education EC-12
• School Counselor
• Licensed Professional Counselor: Applicants who wish to pursue this license without completing the full M.Ed. in Counseling must contact the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors for a list of coursework
