You will need to wear a QUEST nametag every time you are at a school for a field experience. To create your nametag, you will use our name tag system to 1) type your name; 2) upload a picture; and print the nametag using a color printer. You may print your nametag at home, if you have a color printer, or in the CITE lab. Please know that you may stay at your field experience only if you have a nametag printed in color and with an appropriate picture.
In order to best represent yourself as a professional, as well as the University of Houston, your photo must meet the following standards:
- Clear --if you take your image into a photo editing software and crop it, and then the resulting picture is too blurry, it will not be appropriate for this purpose.
- Recent --enough that it resembles fairly closely how you look now.
- Professional --it should not include anything or anyone that would not be appropriate for a public school setting (e.g., a party picture of you and your friends)
- Self portrait --if your best picture includes your kids, your boyfriend, your dog, etc., but you are able to crop them out so that your face is still clearly visible, that is fine.
- Cropped --photo should be a close a “head shot.” If you do not have an image editor on your computer, use http://fotoflexer.com/ (a free online image editor- no registration required).
- Paper/Print Quality --print the badge on a colored printer. If you do not own a color printer, use the printer in the CITE lab. Then trim or fold the badge to fit the provided clear plastic badge holder.
NOTE: The badge form will work best on a PC computer. Please enter your first and last name, choose your QUEST position, and click in the gray box (left hand side of the badge) to upload a photo.
