Area I has one of the most striking landscapes
in Texas. The mountains and basins that make up the Davis,
Guadalupe,
and Chisos range draw visitors from around the world into the Big
Bend National Park. The Permian Basin and Edwards Plateau, combined
with the Pecos and Colorado Rivers, add to the visual interest
of the high plains and plateaus. There is no wonder that the makers
of the classic film Giant selected a site near Marfa to
symbolize the grandeur of Texas. The Guadalupe Mountains National
Park, Chamizal
National Memorial, and the Fort Davis National Historical Site
all combine to make this a unique part of our state. The members
of TAEA from Area I have every reason to be proud of this vast
land they call home. |
