The grasslands of the plains combines with the desert and shrub savanna in the rugged territory of Area II. The cities of Amarillo, Lubbock, and Wichita Falls characterize old west traditions while offering excellent universities and diverse business interests. In this region the Lake Meredith National Recreation Area is separated from the Alibates Flint Quarries, the central location of Texas Panhandle Pueblo Culture, by the Canadian River. TAEA is proud of our members that live in this diverse area of the state.
