The Colorado River flows through Area IV and the capital city of Austin. The Capital Building and the University of Texas are well-known symbols of the state but Waco, San Marcos, and Huntsville also have first class institutions of higher learning, providing a unique educational diversity to this central part of Texas. Diversity is typical of Area IV, partly because of the German, Czech, Swedish and French influences from the immigrant migrations of 1865. Many leaders and members of TAEA have lived in Area IV and we hope many more will join us in our efforts in the future.

Counties in Area IV: Austin, Bastrop, Bell, Blanco, Bosque, Brazos, Burleson, Burnet, Caldwell, Callahan, Comal, Comanche, Coryell, Eastland, Falls, Fayette, Fisher, Freestone, Gillespie, Grimes, Guadalupe, Guadalupe, Hamilton, Haskell, Hays, Hill, Jones, Kendall, Lampasas, Lee, Leon, Houston, Limestone, Llano, Madison, Mc Lennan, Milam, Mills, Mitchell, Navarro, Nolan, Polk, Robertson, San Jacinto, Scurry, Shackelford, Stephens, Stonewall, Taylor, Travis, Trinity, Walker, Washington, Williamson
