Biography:

Dave A. Louis, Ph.D. is a professor of higher education at the University of Houston’s College of Education. He uses counter-storytelling as the core of his research agenda that centers on the voices, authenticity, and meaningfulness of the Black experience in postcolonial environments. His research addresses the experiences of minoritized, marginalized, and underrepresented populations within higher education with a particular focus of individuals of the African Diaspora (including Afro Caribbean populations).  He also conducts research on Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
